What we set, and why.

The short version
We use cookies and similar browser storage for three reasons. To remember which US state you want to see content for. To keep this site working as you click around. And, if you opt in, to measure which pages are useful so we can fix the ones that are not.
We do not run any retargeting pixels, advertising trackers, or cross site tracking on this site. We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

Strictly necessary
These keep the site working. They are always on and cannot be turned off in the consent banner.
Remembers which US state you selected (or which state we detected from your IP address). Lets us show you state aware copy, banner content, and statute references on first paint without a flash of the wrong content. The cookie value is a two letter USPS state code or the word NATIONAL.
Records the choices you made in the cookie banner so we do not pester you on every page. After 13 months we ask again, in line with CCPA and GDPR norms.
Set on our app subdomain after you sign in. Holds the session token so you stay signed in across pages. Cleared when you sign out.
Preference
These remember small choices you have made so the site feels less repetitive. They do not identify you.
Mirror of the state cookie. Lets the picker change state without a network round trip and survives cookie clears that leave local storage intact.
Remembers that you dismissed the announcement banner at the top of the page for your current state. We re check after 30 days so the bar can come back if the topic changes.
Remembers whether you chose to see blog posts from every state or only your state.
Set on our app subdomain after you sign in. Remembers whether your sidebar was open or collapsed.
Remember which community you last visited so the next sign in lands you in the right context.
Used by the interactive board demo. Cleared automatically when you close the tab.
Analytics
These help us understand which pages are useful. They are off by default and only load if you opt in.
Drops the cookies _ga, _ga_8ZSLDK2ND6, and _gid. The first two last two years, the third lasts 24 hours. Used to count unique visitors and session activity. We do not link this data back to your name or email.

Marketing
We do not run any retargeting pixels, advertising cookies, or cross site marketing trackers on this site today. If that ever changes, we will list them here and ask for your consent before loading them.
Server logs and IP address
Every page request goes through Vercel, our hosting provider. Vercel records standard server log information including your IP address, the page requested, your browser type, and a timestamp. We also read two headers Vercel adds based on your IP, x-vercel-ip-country and x-vercel-ip-country-region, so we can pick the right state to show you on first visit. We do not store your IP address in our own database.
How to change your choices
Three options:
- Click above to re open the consent panel.
- Clear cookies and local storage for manorwaygroup.com in your browser. The consent banner will appear on your next visit.
- Most browsers let you block third party cookies entirely. Doing so blocks analytics regardless of your choice here.
